Installation precautions for radar level gauges in different occasions
The radar level gauge is a radar-type level measurement instrument with a measurement distance of up to 70 meters. The antenna has been further optimized and processed. A new type of fast microprocessor can perform signal analysis and processing at a higher rate, making the instrument suitable for high-temperature resistant, pressure-resistant and slightly corrosive liquids.
Regarding various installation matters of radar level gauges:
The axis of the radar level gauge antenna should be perpendicular to the reflective surface of the liquid level.
2. Objects such as the stirring valve in the tank, adhering substances on the tank wall, and steps, if within the signal range of the radar level gauge, will generate interfering reflected waves, affecting the liquid level measurement. When installing, a suitable installation location should be selected to avoid the interference of these factors.
3. The bell mouth of the horn-shaped radar level gauge should extend beyond the inner surface of the installation hole by a certain distance (>10mm). The antenna of the rod-type liquid level gauge should extend beyond the installation hole, and the length of the installation hole should not exceed 100mm. For circular or elliptical containers, they should be installed at a distance of 1/2R(R is the radius of the container) from the center. They must not be installed at the center of the top of the circular or elliptical container. Otherwise, after multiple reflections of the radar wave on the container wall, it will converge at the center of the top of the container, forming a very strong interference wave, which will affect the accurate measurement.
For the liquid level measurement of containers with large fluctuations in liquid level, a liquid level gauge with a bypass pipe can be used to reduce the impact of liquid level fluctuations.
