Precautions for the initial installation and commissioning of thermal gas mass flowmeters
The thermal gas mass flowmeter is an instrument that measures fluid flow based on the principle of heat conduction. This instrument accurately measures the mass flow of gas by using the constant temperature difference method.
Thermal gas mass flowmeters have the advantages of small size, high degree of digitalization, easy installation, wide range ratio and accurate measurement. Suitable for flow measurement of various single or mixed gases. No matter how good the flowmeter is, if it is not installed properly in the early stage, it is difficult to ensure its normal operation in the later stage. Today, we mainly want to talk about the installation and commissioning of thermal gas mass flowmeters.
1. Requirements for straight pipe sections
When installing, the upstream straight pipe section of the flowmeter should be greater than 20D, and the downstream straight pipe section should be 10D.
2. Confirm the flow direction
At the end of the flow element, close to the package, there is a small plane. On this small plane, there is an arrow indicating the flow direction of the fluid. When installing, it should be noted that the small plane marked with the flow direction arrow is parallel to the flow direction of the process medium, and the flow direction arrow points to the flow direction of the process medium.
3. Confirm that the series numbers of the flow element and the electronic circuit part are consistent
The flow element and the electronic part are matched. If the series number does not match, it will lead to inaccurate readings. Special attention should be paid during the initial installation.
4. Avoid installing the sensor on vibrating pipelines.
5. The measurement units of the data output by the flowmeter and the data displayed at the DCS operation station should be unified.
6. The calibration of the flowmeter output data and the calibration of the data received by the DCS control system should be consistent.
