1.The elliptical gear flowmeter should be equipped with a filter, and the arrows on both the shells of the meter should point in the same direction as the flow.
2. When the measured liquid contains gas, a gas separator should be installed before the flowmeter.
3. Regardless of whether the pipeline is installed vertically or horizontally, the elliptical gear shaft in the flowmeter should be installed in a horizontal position. (That is, the dial of the meter should be perpendicular to the ground.)
4. When the elliptical gear flowmeter is installed correctly, if it is difficult to read the value clearly, the counter can be turned to 180° or 90° respectively.
5. Before installing the new flowmeter, use a bamboo stick to push the gears from the outlet several times. If they don’t move, you can soak them in gasoline (to avoid sedimentation in the memory after factory calibration).
6. The throttle valve should be installed at the inlet of the flow meter, while the opening and closing valve should be placed at the outlet. When using the opening and closing valve, it should be operated slowly pneumatically and not opened suddenly.
7. It is strictly prohibited to pass the sweep steam through the flowmeter.
8. When used continuously, a bypass pipe must be added to the flowmeter.
9. Before installing the elliptical gear flowmeter, the pipeline must be flushed. During the flushing process, a straight pipe section (instead of the position where the elliptical flowmeter is installed) should be used to prevent welding debris, impurities, etc. from entering the flowmeter.
10. It is strictly prohibited to use water for calibration of flowmeters made of cast iron or cast steel materials.
11. When using the flowmeter, the flow rate must not exceed the technical requirements. It is best for the flowmeter to operate at a maximum flow rate of 50% to 80%.
12. If the tested liquid is chemically corrosive, a flowmeter made of stainless steel should be selected.
